Scott Bigelow

Scott Bigelow, President of Bigelow Electrical/ BigPower seen here in a candid photo while working on a customer quotation. Scott is the third generation to work at Bigelow Electrical and has experienced many changes in the market for the company. The days when repairing an oil burner motor have given way to larger industrial repairs. The need for reliable power, or “Power Insurance”, has increased and resulted in growth for the Standby Generator Division (BigPower). OSHA Inspection and Workers Compensation Insurance requirements have made the Hoist Division more important to customer's facility management programs. Whatever you need, Bigelow Electrical/ BigPower puts the customer in charge for motor, pump, hoist, and generator requirements.

Bob LaRue

Bob LaRue

Robert “Bob” LaRue, General Manager at Bigelow Electrical/ BigPower has extensive experience and schooling as a trained machinist, is also a certified hoist technician with years of field work experience in all areas related to repair, inspections, and installation of hoists & systems. Add that to his 20+ years in electric motor repair, including being a former motor shop manager here at Bigelow/ BigPower with the pump repair background that went along with that position, and you could quickly see that Bob is well prepared to run things throughout the facility. Bob has also been a maintenance manager for another privately held company which gained him experience troubleshooting controls, robotics, and electronic systems and working in a management related capacity. Bob’s interest in automotive and motorcycle engines over his lifetime gives him a terrific advantage in working with the standby generator technicians and solving any problems that customers contacting Bigelow/ BigPower may have. Bob understands that the customer is always the boss and looks forward to being a trusted and valuable resource for our customers.

Thane Youngsma

Thane Youngsma

Thane Youngsma, Semi-retired Senior Generator Technician at Bigelow Electrical/ BigPower. Thane has been with Bigelow since 1994, previously offering support as an advisor to Bigelow while employed by a regional generator distributor. Thane has 30 years of experience with all makes of standby generators. Thane started with training by the United States Army and is constantly following up with continued Certified Factory Training schools from well-respected manufacturers such as Onan, Kohler, and others. Thane's problem solving expertise lends itself well to his role of managing the BigPower Division at Bigelow, while allowing him to frequently work at a customer's location for the "tricky stuff", such as high temperature windings. Thane has a dedicated commitment to treating the customer as the boss with the sensitivity that goes along with Emergency Standby Power issues.

Dan Phelan

Dan Phelan

Daniel “Dan” Phelan, Generator Service Technician and Generator Service Manager at Bigelow Electrical/ BigPower has worked at the company since January 2011 and comes from an electrical contractor customer where he was working as a Journeyman’s Apprentice. Dan combined his interest in automotive and electrical work to specialize in Standby Generators. He has increased his experience with training at BOTH the Kohler and Generac schools, even traveling to the factory in Wisconsin, and has many certifications from both manufacturers. Dan is up to date on the latest control diagnostic and programmable logic to troubleshoot and solve generator related issues. He is also quick to lend a hand wherever needed in all areas of the company for electric motors, hoists, and pumps. This, along with his daily technical working experience at Bigelow Electrical/ Bigpower and keen sense of customer service gives testimony to Dan’s popularity with the customers. Dan is a very thoughtful, caring individual who unselfishly donated a kidney in February 2014. We here at Bigelow Electrical/ Bigpower support our employees’ volunteer efforts and fundraising drives for many worthwhile causes and recognize Dan’s tremendous charity as nothing less than outstanding. Dan continues to expand his involvement with customers in his new role as Generator Service Manager. Dan sure shows that ‘customer is the Boss’ attitude.

Bruce Fournier

Bruce Fournier, Customer Service & Parts Counter Technician at Bigelow Electrical/ BigPower. Bruce is always ready to facilitate parts search to provide answers for Customer Repair Quotations and assist Dan Phelan and Bob LaRue in Repair Authorization Quotes. Bruce is always responsive to the customer as the boss.

Judy LaJoie

Judy LaJoie, Office Manager & Bookkeeper at Bigelow Electrical/ BigPower has been with Bigelow since 2000 and comes from a background working with contractors and municipalities. Her friendly and knowledgeable personality is evident from the moment anyone speaks with her, whether by telephone or in person. Judy keeps everything running smoothly and is invaluable to all of our Service Technicians for standby generators, electric motors, hoists, and pumps. She organizes our scheduled maintenance orders, as well as those emergency RUSH repairs. Dan's Donation

February 11, 2014 one of our valued generator technicians Dan Phelan performed an incredibly selfless & heroic act in order to come to the aid of a loved one. Bigelow Electrical would like to take this time to appreciate Dan for his actions. 25yrs old at the time Dan donated a kidney to his fiance’s grandmother going through dialysis treatments. Now 72yrs old his fiance’s grandmother is healthy & doing very well! She has since been on two different vacations to Alaska and Las Vegas! Congratulations to all involved & thank you to Dan for his caring & generous nature!
